Codies have pulled the plug at 12:00 midday today.

Found this info on Facebook so will be checking there for updates.

The LOTRO European servers are down for service migration. For Information on how to migrate your account please visit: http://transfer.lotro.com/ and following the easy instructions. After May 31st you will no longer be able to play LOTRO in Europe until this process is complete.

Not the best week for me to be on holiday if I was hoping to get some game time!

Apelred respectable at last

After the DN raid Apelred popped over to solo New Devilry the only Volume 2 quest he had outstanding. Defeating Gwathnor proved quite tricky even with the Inspiration buff. This means he now has the Cool Burn legendary available so has temporarily gone 5 red traits to give it a try.
More significantly Apel realised after the raid that he has had enable autoattack switched off (probably for years!) so has given himself a easy 30% DPS increase by turning on 'Skills can enable default attack' option in Combat Options, boy did he notice the difference soloing wargs etc in Mirkwood for his final Determination pip.
Apel also did some more work on his stats (virtues, relics, new & swapped equipment) and now is just about respectable for a L65 Hunter. For example, from 2 months ago his morale is +700 and his ICPR is +250.

His key stats are
  • Morale 5138 ICMR 787
  • Power 2981 ICPR 765
  • Ranged Damage +17.7%
  • Ranged Crit 12%
  • Incoming Healing +8.5%
  • Common Mitigation 28.2%

Florik the Rune Keeper

As Turbine are having some difficulties satisfying some of the bonus items for new characters I have started my 9th character as a Rune Keeper before the June transfer.

So welcome Florik, he won't be getting much game time but he does have a free goat if he ever levels up.

First Ever Raid

Tony & Jen from Reconnected have bravely offered to take some raid noobies through Dar Nargubud on Sunday night and Apelred has been offered a place.

It feels like the first day at 'big' school and he needs to be prepared so here is his to do list
  1. Install ventrilo 2.1
  2. Level up legendary bow to L30 to get extra legacy (see screen shot below for a rather nice outcome)
  3. Apply scroll to legendary bow to change from common damage
  4. Beef up some virtues (using Lotro store as I don't have the time to grind them out)
  5. Make or buy potions so he has at least 25 of each L65
  6. Make or buy some good food at least 10 of each
  7. Make or buy 5 +5 Hope, Warding & Battle scrolls
  8. Change UI settings to reduce lag
  9. Read a walkthrough of DN (completed this, now he is scared!)
  10. Repair equipment
  11. Make sure 7 quest slots available
  12. Clear bags for lots of loot
  13. Send Apelred 5G to afford all this and the coming repair bill :)

    Florandir skirmishes to L45

Florandir only has 3 of the 500 mark Advanced Lieutenant deeds left as he skirmishes towards level 45. The plan is to have enough skirmish marks to buy the Class Items for his legendary skills.

    Cauldron killing in the shire

To a hobbit a poisoned pie is the epitome of evil - something must be done! Brenville, Colzarak & Apelred set off to clear Northcott Farm of Thadur and his minions.

Brenville & Colzarak perfected their hobbit slapping & poison pool dodging while Apelred attacked the cauldron needing Press Onwards to top up his power for the final attacks (his ICPR is a bit naff).

Then on to face Thadur which involved dancing around to avoid his various attacks, poison puddles, frontal attack & being apart from each other.

Grimberg witnesses the forging of a mithril key to Carn Dum

Grimberg & Colvedui scourer the four corners of Middle Earth to find the items needed to forge a key to the gates of Carn Dum and witness the forging.

The duo couldn't manage the fellowship quest so they decided to quench the fire of a few drakes.
